What's The Real Difference Between Ladies Golf and Men's Golf?
This
question is what inspired me to create Ladies Golf Central. Sure, we
can tee off a little closer to the hole then men, and our clubs are
usually lighter, but the differences go far beyond those.
Lady
golfers bring more then just a set of clubs to the course. We bring
personality, style, friendships, fun and an appetite for socializing to
the game of golf. We nurture relationships on the course, and we do it
with style.
Not that
male golfers don't have or do these things, but generally speaking,
they tend to be more focused on the sport of golf,
while I think women tend to be more focused on the experience of golf. That experience includes the sport itself, but also the social
aspect, the fun gear, the fashion, the accessories - the whole experience.
Whether
you are
a beginner, an avid golfer or somewhere in between (that would be me),
golf is a great sport for women of any age. It provides an
excuse to
get out with the gals (or guys), get some fresh air and challenge
yourself in a sport that can be both exhilarating and frustrating.
But
let's face it ladies, in addition to the relationships we nurture on
the course, we need the right fashion and accessories, to make
it
really fun.
I've
purchased my share of golf "stuff". (I actually took it a step further
and created a golf
journal!). I'm a casual golfer who enjoys playing for fun
with my favorite gal pals and my husband (who has
played many a par 3's with me, stating it helps his short
game.).
I think the golf industry
definitely caters
to men, but the reality is, there are a lot of great products out there
for women golfers. The hard part? Finding them.
I
decided to take on the challenge of finding as many great ladies
golf products as I can, and writing about them here at LGC.
Not a bad
challenge, I
think. I've found ladies golf
clubs, golf
apparel, shoes, golf
equipment, golf
gifts and accessories made specifically for the lady
golfer. I've also
sprinkled in golf tips,
golf etiquette, fitness tricks, etc to make it
even more exciting.
If you know of some great womens
golf products or information, I'd love it hear about it. Please contact
me!
