Ladies Golf Club Sets
Ladies golf club sets are a great way to go, especially if you are just getting started in the wonderful game of golf. Every golfer has a "set" of clubs, but you can piece that set together by purchasing individual clubs, or by having custom clubs made.
Which clubs are your favorite? Click here to tell us about them!
The standard set of clubs typically includes 12-13 clubs and may include; 3 woods, 7 irons, a pitching wedge, a sand wedge and a putter. Sets can vary widely though. You can buy 6-8 piece sets, especially now with the popularity of new hybrid clubs. Hybrids combine the best qualities of a wood and an iron into one club.
The La Jolla Lady Accent set of golf clubs that I purchased included 12 clubs:
1, 3, 5 woods
3/4 iron and 5,6,7,8,9 irons
(note: I have never used my 3/4 iron!)
Callaway, Adams, Taylor Made and many other brands make ladies golf club sets. Expect to spend about $300-$400 and up on a decent set. I think investing in a good set is smart if you are beginning and plan to play for several years, even just for fun. A good set will give you everything you need to get started. You can always supplement with new clubs as you go and become more experienced.
If you are just thinking about starting up golf and don't want to invest in an expensive set of clubs, try finding some used clubs on eBay, Craigslist or a garage sale. You can always upgrade if you decide to continue playing.
If you're left-handed or petite (short) like moi, you'll want to make sure and get appropriate clubs to fit your needs. You can always go the custom club fitting route, which is always a good idea to get the most out of your clubs.
If you're unsure which of the ladies golf club sets is going to be right for you, talk to the pro at local golf course and get her opinion. That's how I picked mine and I've been very happy.
Keep in mind that the rightone of the many ladies golf club sets will make a world of difference in your golf game!
