Ladies Putters
Selecting a putter can be a
daunting task. There are more ladies putters to choose from then any
other type of club. But how do you pick the one right for you? There
really is just one answer - try different putters out and see which one
feels best to you.
My
husband's buddy ran over his putter on the course with the golf cart by
accident. Yes, it was a bummer, but I think my husband was secretly
excited to go to Golfsmith and buy a new putter. It was a good excuse
to go pick out shiny new putters and play on the practice
green in the store. That is the best way to pick your putter.
But there are so many!
There
are many different types of ladies putters, but that's because everyone
has
different needs. That's why
you need to pick up several types of putters and try them out to see
what is going to be comfortable for you.
Are you
more comfortable with a lightweight putter or a heavier one? Do you
prefer an offset shaft (mine is offset and I like that because it helps
me line up with the hole better). Do you need a long putter?
Again,
the only way to find out is to pop into a golf retailer or pro shop and
play around with different putters and see which one will get the ball
in the hole for you.
Are they expensive?
Ladies putters can range anywhere from $20 to $400 and up.
Do you need to go with an expensive one to improve your game? No, not
necessarily! An expensive club is going to be a well-made club, but
that doesn't mean its going to make your putts better.
You may find a $20 putter that really feels good to you. BUY IT! Don't
worry that its cheaper. If you can get the ball in the hole with it,
then its going to be valuable to you on the green - and you'll save
yourself alot of money!
If you do find a $300 putter
that feels great and helps you putt with great ease, then if you have
the budget, by all means buy it. It will give you confidence and lower
your golf score!
